Our first trip to Kentucky in over 2 years (thanks to covid) we made a long overdue stop into the Baron Distillery and pick one of our favourites - 1792 Full Proof!

 

This year we brought along some VIP's, John from Orrsum, Videl from BRASS & Jackie @thewhiskygirlcollection.  As a group I think we selected a classic 1792 full proof single barrel.  Nose on this one is a pecan pie caramel bomb!  Big and bold as always, but even at 62.5% the layers of flavour we all look for in a classic Kentucky bourbon are there, caramel, vanilla, pecan, cinnamon lingering for a long finish.

Fun Fact: Doing a barrel selection in a freezing cold rickhouse isn't great for the taste buds! We ended up having to take these samples indoors and let them warm up to room temperature so they could open up a little.
